Hiring a New Search Scientist to Expand our PPC Team

Search Scientists is immediately hiring for a part time or full time  PPC Position. This person will help brainstorm ways to improve client PPC account performance, and communicate with clients.

This role’s title and salary will be tailored to the individual who presents the most existing strengths and potential ability.

This isn’t your grandparent’s company. We’re a group of location independent, create-your-own schedule, no-time-clock-as-long-as-the-work-gets-done-and-clients-get-results kind of PPC company. We pride ourselves on zero bureaucracy and full speed ahead productivity. If you find numbers are like a puzzle waiting to be solved, and ad copy is a competition to be won, then you’ll find Search Scientists your new home.

Required Characteristics

  • A Lifelong Learner. If you don’t visit PPCHero at least 5 times a month, this position probably isn’t for you. In the world of online marketing: it’s learn or die. It’s the difference between having 5 years of experience, and repeating 5 of your first years.

  • Exceptional Paid Traffic Skills: You know the relationship between quality score, CPC, and ad rank. You can add 500 negative keywords to an account in under 15 minutes. At smaller agencies, it’s normal to be responsible for developing strategy – and implementation.
  • Strategic Vision: When a campaign doesn’t work out the way you wanted it to, what is your reaction? Do your emotions impact your performance, or do you have the strategic vision to map your way out of a valley.
  • A Great Teacher.  Can you help clients understand when a dip in CTR isn’t a bad thing? How about letting them know why sending informational searches to a product page isn’t going to produce many sales?

  • Confident & Self-Driven: A client wants to roll out an all broad-match strategy, paired up with targeting 100,000,000 million people on Facebook. Do you have the initiative to hop on the phone with them and the confidence to explain why it’s not a good idea to go that broad? Are you comforting enough to not make them feel foolish in the process?

  • Online Communication Skills. For our top-tier clients, support tickets need to be cleared out 3x a day during work days. Do you inbox-zero, or do you lose messages regularly?

  • Analytic Skills. Do you run from excel? Do you know when to use VLOOKUP? When you look at account level metrics, do you want to dig in deeper and find the real reasons for performance changes?

  • Salesmanship.  Many times, we are only as good as the client thinks we are. When things go well – can you link our work to increased performance? When things aren’t going well – can you get people on board with the vision to improve? If FB Ads are going to be helpful to a client, can you explain why?

  • Ethical & Honest: We don’t work with adult sites, non-family safe companies, and view marketing as a way to connect great organizations with people who can benefit from their solutions. We’re proud to talk about what we do or who we work with at the dinner table.
  • Technologically Inclined: You don’t need instructions on how to take screenshots, and you’re interested in faster ways to do so.

Experience

  • PPC Skills: AdWords, BingAds, Amazon Ads, Retargeting, Facebook Ads, and/or Display Advertising. Missing anything? Come equipped with an eagerness to learn.

  • Development of Paid Traffic Strategy & Execution
  • Ecommerce & Lead Generation Management Skills

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on skills and experience

  • Regular performance- and milestone-based every 6 months

  • 2 Paid Bonus Days off a month

  • Create your own schedule: are you a night owl? or an early bird? Want to put in a little time in both? The choice is yours.

  • Location Independence: work from home, a coffee shop, the beach, or a log cabin. Personally, I work best in the Caribbean, between running on the beach.

  • We’re not one of those agencies that will give you 100 clients to work with. For this position, the number of client accounts you will be working with will be under 15.
